Maria Torres

Maria Torres, LMT
(contracted therapist: Boulder & Superior)

Maria graduated from Oceans Massage School in 2019 and has worked in various massage settings since then. She was born and raised in Texas and moved to Colorado in 2021. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Before getting into Massage Therapy, Maria was attending Amarillo College to become a Physical Therapist Assistant. This was Maria’s first interest after graduating high school because her grandmother had to get a total knee replacement and couldn’t afford the Physical Therapy. Maria moved in with her grandmother and helped her with all her Physical therapy at home. She accompanied her to her first PT visit and gathered all the exercises and stretches she needed to perform. Maria worked out a complete treatment plan with advice from the PTs and helped her grandmother fully recover from her surgery. While going to PTA school, Maria realized PT wasn’t what she was really passionate about and believed Massage Therapy was similar but offered more “hands-on” than PT.

The first day of massage school Maria realized Massage Therapy was more than just a luxury. She strongly believes that it helps the healing process of the body, mind, and soul. Maria is extremely passionate about her profession and enjoys being an LMT. Having health issues of her own, Maria personally knows the benefits massage therapy has to offer to reduce inflammation, offer pain relief, reduce stiffness, and assists in injury prevention.

Maria has worked in the spa setting, mobile massage, pediatric massage, and also collaborated at a Chiropractic clinic. In this clinical setting, she assisting patients with injuries from auto accidents, whiplash, sciatica, scoliosis, general neck, back, and hip pain or discomfort, and plantar fasciitis. Maria is knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, deep tissue, Injury/sports massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and assisted stretching.

Maria believes listening closely and having an open line of communication is the key to assisting and reaching the goals of each client. Her priority is to assist every client in feeling better after every session, and her smile will brighten your day.

“I have been struggling with sciatic nerve pain that had gotten much worse while I recovered from a broken ankle. Maria helped me figure out how my body mechanics have been affected by the broken ankle. She’s recommended exercises and focused on the corresponding muscles during massage therapy. I feel much better after two sessions and faithfully following her recommended exercises. Thank you!”–Cathy W.

“Maria has been a lifesaver over the past few months as I dealt with hip pain during and after runs. I don’t think I would have made it to my marathon start line without her!–Zoe G.

“I had the best therapeutic massage of my life with Maria! I had slipped on ice months ago and had been rehabbing my hip. Long story short – I desperately needed a massage as my entire left hip and surrounding muscles were so tight I could barely move. She found all the trigger points and worked the stiffness and soreness out. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Maria and this massage clinic!” –Cindy

“Maria was fantastic. Professional, highly skilled, and very pleasant. All around great experience. Highly recommend!” –Jill E.

“Amazing communication in getting set up with appointments and paperwork. Great experience so far with my massage therapist Maria. I would recommend trying for pain relief.” –Beth L.
