Foot Pain Relief: Plantar Fasciitis & Ankle Injury Solutions
Do You Have Foot Pain or Plantar Fasciitis?
Do you feel pain in your foot, heel or plantar fascia? We often see these symptoms occur in athletes but also in people who have started a new activity or are sedentary.
Massage Therapy and Acupuncture Can Help!
At Boulder Therapeutics, we understand that your foot or plantar fasciitis pain can be debilitating and very frustrating…and we’re here to help! Our massage therapists and acupuncturists are skilled in injury rehab, sports massage and pain relief.
Causes of Foot Pain or Plantar Fasciitis
Most often, we see foot pain occur when athletes are either new to running or hiking, have increased their mileage or have changed their gait or their shoes. Over time, the bottom, and sometimes top, of your feet can get very, very tight and swollen and form fascial adhesions (knots).
A classic symptom of plantar fasciitis is pain at the bottom of your heel. Tight calf muscles can also create pain in your foot so a good stretching and rolling routine is vital for every athlete. If you’re in enough pain, you may want to consider getting a weighted (standing) xray to rule out any fractures in your foot.
Why Choose Boulder Therapeutics?
We can help you! Since posture is often a contributing factor, we’ll look at your biomechanics to help determine the cause of this painful symptom. We will also explain when to use ice or heat and will provide stretches & recommendations to help get you back to your sport. You’ve likely used a foot roller or ball, and those are a great start. But sometimes tools alone can’t get to the places our trained hands, elbows and thumbs can.
Our skilled sports massage therapists will provide the right treatment for you, whether it’s myofascial release, trigger point therapy, a series of muscle energy techniques or active stretching & release. And our Acupuncturists are skilled in using needles, gua sha, scraping tools and dry needling to help relieve your pain.
