Marcos “Gabby” Rivera

Gabby Marcos massage therapist Marcos “Gabby” Rivera, LMT
(contracted therapist: Boulder)

As a proud graduate of The Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy in 2019, Gabby utilizes Western and Eastern Modalities to offer an intuitive and innovative approach to Bodywork and Injury Rehabilitation. Gabby also has a background in Biochemical Engineering, Biology and has an avid pursuit of knowledge. These paths have allowed Gabby to explore the art of understanding the body and its functions.

Gabby has always been very active, playing football, cross-country and track. Thru sports injuries, Gabby learned how to recover faster and prevent injuries. Every new injury received and recovered stirred Gabby’s curiosity to learn more about the body and how best we can operate in it.

At an early age, Gabby’s mother demonstrated how to give and receive touch. As the years advanced, Gabby gained experience working with family, friends, and later branched towards clients ranging from dancers, active-duty military, elderly, performers, musicians, and martial artists. Gabby learned the fragility of the human form and how poor posture and daily habits can create dysfunction in the body. Many people requested services from state to state so Gabby was prompted to officially complete massage school and obtain a Massage Therapy license.

With a blend of deep and gentle approaches to open up range of motion, improve balance, and a help clients recover from a variety of injuries, Gabby’s methodology improves your body’s functionality and efficiency. The goal during these treatments is to provide advanced modalities and create space for muscles to relax, scar tissue to be broken up, and injuries to heal.

Education: Gabby is trained proficiently in Sports Massage, Kinesiology, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofacial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques, Deep Tissue Massage, Abdominal/Psoas Massage, Breathing Dysfunction, Ashiatsu, Craniosacral Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Pre-Natal/Post-Natal, forms of energy work, and Thai Massage. Combining these methods provides for a diverse integration towards revitalizing the tissue and gaining the results we want.
