Do You Have Iliotibial Band Pain?
Do you suffer from pain in your Iliotibial band? You’re likely an athlete whose sport includes a lot of running or hiking. Cyclists and climbers can also have symptoms here as well. This painful symptom can actually affect many different athletes.
Massage Therapy Can Help!
At Boulder Therapeutics, we understand that your iliotibial band pain can be extremely painful and mentally challenging…and we’re here to help! Our massage therapists are skilled in injury rehab, sports massage and pain relief.
Causes of Iliotibial Band Pain
IT band pain is usually caused from tightness in the IT band or Vastus Lateralis muscle. Other muscles can also pull on the IT band and you may feel pain in your knee or up in your hip. The source of this tightness is usually found in imbalances
in the hips, pelvis or feet. We’ll review your posture and help assess the actual cause of your pain.
Why Choose Boulder Therapeutics?
We can help you! Since posture is often a contributing factor, we’ll look at your biomechanics to help determine the cause of this painful symptom. We will also explain when to use ice or heat and will provide stretches & recommendations to help get you back to your sport. You’ve likely used, or heard of, a foam roller & The Stick. Those are a great start! But sometimes the foam roller & Stick can’t get to the places our trained hands, elbows and thumbs can.
Our trained therapists will provide the right treatment for you, whether it’s myofascial release, trigger point therapy, a series of muscle energy techniques or active stretching & release.
